Marilyn Boyd
Marilyn is a native of Seguin, Texas, and a graduate of Texas Lutheran University, with a degree in Music Education. She taught music as well as first and second grades in public and private schools as well as junior college for 25 years. She was active in the forming of the Looking Glass Theatre and served as accompanist for many productions. She played the role of Parthee, along with her husband, Richard, as Captain Andy, in the production of “Showboat”. She helped her husband revive the Lebanon Choral Society, and sang in numerous performances.
Marilyn has been a singer with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and Bach Society of St. Louis. She also served as the organist at the First United Methodist Church of Lebanon, Illinois for 15 years, and has sung with the Belleville Philharmonic Choral Group in Belleville, IL. Marilyn has her own private music studio where she teaches piano, and also accompanies Richard’s voice students. She is currently the accompanist for St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in O’Fallon, IL.
Marilyn is continuing to add more piano students to her studio, and is a member of National Music Teachers Assn., Illinois Music Teachers Assn., and the Gate Arch East Music Teachers Assn. She teachers all ages, and her primary objective is to teach the students various types of music, and instill the love of music into their lives.
