Richard Boyd
Richard Boyd has been a soloist and principal singer with several well-known area choral groups, including the St. Louis Symphony Chorus (currently), American Kantorei, Belleville Masterworks, Bach Society of St. Louis, Belleville Philharmonic, and other area choral groups.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from McKendree College. He did his graduate studies at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and Perkins Seminary in Dallas, Texas. He was the Bass Section Leader for the 7th Army Soldiers Chorus in Heidelberg Germany for 3 years. He has studied with Glenn Freiner, Dale Moore, and W. Stephen Smith. He was selected to sing in the National Men’s Honors Chorus in 1995.
Richard is starting his 41st year as the Minister of Music for the
First United Methodist Church in Lebanon, IL. He is looking to enlarge his music studio in the field of voice instruction. He specializes in the technique of the voice, and repertoire. His wife, Marilyn, is his primary accompanist. He teaches all ages, and also uses the art of music recordings to help the students learn voice technique.
Richard is a 2nd Bass, and has done many Oratorio solos with groups in this area. His schedule is flexible and he is available to perform solos from many choral works.
