Welcome to Boyd Music!
Dick and Marilyn Boyd welcome you to their website and to their loving and caring style of vocal and piano instruction. These seasoned teachers will bring out the best in you, whether you are a beginner or have been in the business a few years.
On July 7, Dick announced a change in his employment to M-R Music, and invites you to read his letter of introduction below.
Marilyn's students performed at Southwest Illinois College in the Art Gallery for their annual "Day of Play" on June 8. After playing, the students participated in art projects, and viewed the art gallery.
An unlikely "duet" partner
Dick and Marilyn have a lot of fun with their students. Even Homer, their loyal companion, gets into the act with student Cullen White from Highland.

Is it "too late" to start piano lessons?
I took my first piano lesson when I was 18. I had dreamed of playing the piano since I could remember, but wasn't given that opportunity until I started taking from Mrs. Boyd. Being an adult beginner was tough, but due to her continued encouragement and dedication I have become a proficient pianist. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd genuinely care about their students, sharing their love for music through concerts. They are two of the best musical teachers I know and taking lessons from Mrs. Boyd was a great honor.

Powell Hall last Christmas!
